Open Figure Drawing (Live Model)

Description

Open figure drawing sessions are open to the public. All skill levels are welcome. This is not a class, so no instruction will be provided. A facilitator will be present if you have any questions or concerns. Participants will need to bring their own supplies but we do have several easels and drawing boards that can be borrowed. We will work with a variety of live models on a rotating schedule: 1st and 3rd weeks of the month will be nude/partially nude models (participants must be 18+) 2nd and 4th weeks will be clothed or costumed models (participants must be 16+) 5th weeks will be miscellaneous The Vibe Immaculate. This is a collaborative space where artists and models come together to support each other, grow as creatives, and more importantly grow as humans. All interactions are met with the highest respect, love and gratitude. We are each responsible for the energy we bring to the space and how we contribute to the collective experience for everyone involved. My goal is that we always leave feeling a little more loving, gentle, connected, supported, and optimistic about the world around us. The Agreements In order to keep the high vibe energy, we prioritize and put a high emphasis on RESPECT and CONSENT. We are all responsible for being mindful and proactive about our behaviors. Some specifics to be aware of: 1- Photography and recording is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. For the respect and safety of our model, phones must be put away throughout the duration of the entire season. If you are on-call or have other reasons that you may need to have your phone out, let the facilitator know and we will have you place a sticky note, tape, or other covering over your camera. 2- Conversation is absolutely appropriate while we transition between poses but we ask participants to maintain a quiet, focused working environment during poses. 3- This is an inclusive, body-positive space. Please refrain from any comments — whether positive or negative — about the model's body, size, age, physical characteristics, or personal life. 4- All models have different levels of comfort and privacy. You maintain ownership of any artworks created during the class and are welcome to share it online but do NOT tag the model or identify them without their explicit consent. Cost: Sliding Scale $10–$30 Pay Venmo or cash when you get to class. We believe art should be accessible to everyone. Sliding scale pricing is to make it affordable to everyone.
